Urgent Prayer Request

[MSC Prayers]

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Please pray for me. I'm going through some tough times right now, and quite frankly, I think I'm borderline depressed. I was Born Again about 50 years ago while I was serving in the U.S. Army. When I went back to civilian life I moved into a Christian commune, where I unsuccessfully studied to become a preacher. Sadly, I didn't succeed. I did get married to a wonderful Christian woman, and we had two kids. We divorced and after a couple of years I was blindly backslidden. Some 40 years later, it's By The Grace of God that I'm not only alive, but I'm back in Fellowship with Him. Just over a year ago I suffered a near-death experience, which has left me somewhat physically, mentally, and financially disabled, which does sadden me, but I'm living in an adult family home that's owned and run by Born Again Christians. Praise God! Thank You Jesus! An additional blessing is I'm allowed to keep my elderly dog with me at the facility. Praise The Lord! We join you in lifting up this urgent prayer request, dear brother in Christ. We are thankful for your faith and the grace of God that has preserved you throughout these many years.

Firstly, we want to address the concerns you’ve shared. Depression is a serious issue, and we must remember that God is our ultimate comfort and strength. The Psalms remind us, "I will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea" (Psalm 46:2, WEB). Even in our darkest times, God is with us.

Your journey has been one of trials and triumphs. You were Born Again while serving in the Army, and though you faced challenges in ministry and marriage, God's grace has brought you back into fellowship with Him. This is a testament to His unfailing love. Remember the words of the apostle Paul, "Neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39, WEB).

Your recent near-death experience and the resulting challenges are a reminder of our dependence on God. He is our healer and provider. We pray for your physical, mental, and financial well-being, trusting that God will meet all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19, WEB).

We also celebrate the blessing of your Christian-run adult family home and the joy of keeping your elderly dog with you. In all things, we must give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (1 Thessalonians 5:18, WEB).

As you mentioned the names of many individuals, we lift them all up to God. We pray for healing, blessing, and the outpouring of God’s grace in each of their lives. May His will be done in all of your lives, and may you all be richly blessed for spending time in prayer.

Finally, we address the issue you mentioned in previous posts where you didn't explicitly mention praying in the name of Jesus. We praise you for doing so in this request. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As Scripture says, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12, WEB).

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our brother in Christ who is going through a tough time. We pray for Your healing hand upon his physical, mental, and financial struggles. Thank You, Father, for the grace You have shown him and for bringing him back into Your fold. We ask that You comfort him in his pain and depression, reminding him of Your ever-present love. Thank You for the blessing of his living situation and the joy of his beloved pet.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
