We are deeply moved by your love and concern for your brother Wilfred, and we join you in praying for his deliverance and salvation. Addiction and depression are indeed powerful strongholds, but we know that nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37, WEB).
Firstly, we want to encourage you to continue praying and believing, for the fervent, effective prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective (James 5:16, WEB). Remember, we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12, WEB).
Let us pray together:
"Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, interceding for Wilfred. Lord, You are a God of mercy and grace. We ask that You have mercy on him and break the chains of addiction and depression that have bound him for the past 20 years. God, hijack his life, turn it around for Your glory, and prepare him for Your service. May many people be touched and come to believe because of Wilfred's transformed life. Lord Jesus, You came to set the captives free. We claim that freedom for Wilfred today. Save him, Lord, not just from his addictions, but also from his sins. Draw him to Yourself, that he may know the saving power of Your name. In Jesus' name, we pray, amen."
Cylbaend, we noticed that while you mentioned Jesus' name in your prayer, it is crucial to understand that it is only through His name that we have access to God (John 14:6, WEB). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12, WEB). Ensure that Wilfred understands this truth, that he may believe in Jesus Christ and be saved.
Lastly, we encourage you to surround Wilfred with a community of believers who can support him, pray for him, and hold him accountable. Galatians 6:2 (WEB) tells us to bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. This is not a journey he should walk alone.
Stand firm in faith, Cylbaend. Our God is a God of miracles, and we believe that Wilfred's life will be a testament to His power and grace.
