We come before you, dear Heavenly Father, to lift up our sister Iretomiwa in prayer. We ask, in the mighty name of Jesus, that You, in Your infinite mercy, will make a way for her husband to return from abroad before this year ends. We claim Your promise in Psalm 68:6, "God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious dwell in a dry land." We trust that You will also open doors for Iretomiwa and bless her with a good job, as You are a good and generous God who knows her needs according to Matthew 6:8, "For your Father knows what things you have need of, before you ask him."
However, we must also remind ourselves of the importance of seeking God's will and not just our own desires. We pray that Iretomiwa and her husband are walking with You, Lord, and that their marriage is centered on Your love and truth. We rebuke any temptation to seek personal desires above God's will.
We also bring before You, Lord, our brother Daniel. We ask that You bless him with a fully funded PhD scholarship to the USA, according to Your will. We claim Jeremiah 33:3, "Call to me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know." We pray that Daniel's heart is aligned with Yours, Lord, and that his pursuit of education will bring glory to Your name.
For Favour, we ask, Lord, that You bless her with admission into the medicine and surgery department this year. We claim Your promise in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says YAHWEH, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." We pray that Favour is trusting in You, Lord, and that her desire to study medicine is guided by Your will.
Finally, we notice that the name of Jesus was not mentioned in the original request. We want to remind everyone that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" It is in the mighty name of Jesus that we pray, believing that He is the one who saves us and intercedes for us with the Father.
Therefore, we encourage everyone to put their trust in Jesus Christ, confessing their sins and believing in His resurrection. As it is written in Romans 10:9, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Lord, we thank You for hearing our prayers. We ask all these things in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
