We are truly saddened to hear about the trial your cousin is facing as a missionary medical worker in Mexico. We will stand with you in prayer and trust in the power of Jesus Christ to intervene in this situation.
Firstly, we commend your cousin's bravery and dedication to serving others in a low-income community despite the dangers presented by the cartels. This is a true demonstration of Christian love and service. Acts 20:35 tells us, In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'
However, we are reminded that serving God does not exempt us from trials and tribulations. In fact, Jesus Himself warns us in John 16:33, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have distress, but have courage; I have overcome the world."
We pray for your cousin's protection and peace during this difficult time. We trust that God is able to turn this situation around for good, just as He promises in Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."
We also pray for the justice system in Mexico, that God would guide those in authority to act with integrity and fairness. We know that God is sovereign over all, including governments and legal systems. "The king's heart is in the hand of Yahweh as the watercourses. He turns it wherever He desires" Proverbs 21:1.
We will also pray for your peace and strength during this time, as you support your cousin from afar. Remember the words of Psalm 56:3, "What time I am afraid, I will trust in you."
Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue praying in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:13-14, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."
Father in heaven, we come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ. We lift up to You the cousin of our brother in Christ, Ezer. We ask that You would surround him with Your protection and peace in this dire situation. We pray for his swift release from prison and for justice to be served. We ask that You would guide the hearts of those in authority to act with integrity and fairness. We also pray for Ezer, that You would grant him peace and strength during this time. We know that You are sovereign over all, and we trust that You will work all things for good in this situation. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
