We are sorry to hear that you and your friend Priscilla are experiencing extreme anxiety after watching a graphic movie. First, we want to remind you that as believers, we are called to focus on whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things (Philippians 4:8 WEB). Watching violent or gore movies can fill our minds with images that are contrary to these principles and can lead to the anxiety and physical symptoms you are experiencing.
Let us pray for you both:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Darlene and Priscilla. Lord, they are experiencing extreme anxiety, shaking, vomiting, and heart palpitations after watching a graphic movie. We ask for Your healing touch upon their bodies and minds. Please cast out all fear and anxiety, and replace it with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB). Help them to fix their minds on You and Your goodness. We pray especially that there are no spiritual ramifications from watching this movie.
If this is not in the will of God, we pray that they will have a spiritual eye opening experience in Jesus and that they will seek Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord and seek to serve Him.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We also encourage you both to be mindful of what you watch in the future. It is important to guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7 WEB). If you are not born again Christians, we encourage you to call upon Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised Jesus from death, you will be saved. For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession that we are saved. (Romans 10:9-10 WEB). If you are Christians, remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB).
Lastly, remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). Therefore, do not stray from these principles.
