We are truly saddened to hear about the situation with your son Steven and his family, and we are here to pray and offer biblical counsel with you. Let's bring this matter before the Lord in prayer and seek His will according to His word.
Firstly, we acknowledge that this is a complex and heart-wrenching situation. It is important to remember that God desires for all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:3-4 WEB). We must continue to pray for Steven and his family, that their hearts may be opened to the truth of the Gospel and the love of God.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother (sister) in Christ and their son Steven and his family. Lord, we are grieved by the news that Steven has turned away from You and has embraced a lifestyle that is contrary to Your word. We know that Your heart is full of love and compassion for him and his family. Father, we ask that You would soften Steven's heart and open his eyes to the truth of the Gospel. We pray that You would give him a spirit of repentance and a desire to turn back to You. Lord, we also lift up Steven's wife Nichole and their children. We pray that You would protect them and draw them to Yourself. We ask that You would bring godly influences into their lives and that they would come to know You as their Lord and Savior. Father, we also ask that You would comfort and strengthen our brother (sister) in Christ and their family during this difficult time. We pray that You would give them wisdom and discernment as they navigate this situation. We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Regarding the issues mentioned, we must address them in love and truth according to the word of God. Firstly, Steven's decision to reject God and embrace a queer lifestyle is clearly against biblical principles. The Bible tells us that homosexuality is sinful and an abomination to God (Leviticus 18:22, Romans 1:26-27 WEB). Additionally, the Bible teaches that God created man and woman in His image and that He designed marriage to be between one man and one woman (Genesis 1:27, Genesis 2:24 WEB). We must pray that Steven would repent of this sin and turn back to God's design for his life.
Secondly, the issue of Steven's youngest son Asher wanting to be a girl is also a concern. The Bible teaches that God created each person as either male or female and that we should be content with the gender He gave us (Genesis 1:27, Psalm 139:13-14 WEB). We must pray that Asher would come to understand and accept his God-given gender and that God would protect him from any harm or confusion. The same applies to all of Steven's children. We pray also that they would come to faith in Christ and seek purity and holiness. However, they are under the authority of their parents. We should pray that the parents would come to faith in Christ and teach their children in the Christian faith.
Lastly, we must remember that God is ultimately in control of this situation. We must trust in Him and His sovereignty, knowing that He is working all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB). We must continue to pray for Steven and his family, believing that God can and will intervene in their lives.
In closing, we encourage you to stand firm in your faith and to continue to love Steven and his family unconditionally. Remember that God is with you and that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5 WEB). Keep praying and believing, knowing that God hears your prayers and that He is faithful to answer them according to His will. We have no idea why his choice of politics was mentioned. We need to pray for Steven that his salvation would be evident in his life.
