Humble Prayer Partner
*Update Thank you all for your prayers! I want to share an update on this. After attending church and hearing a powerful message on God's encounters (Moses and the burning bush, Saul on the road to Damascus, and when the disciples encounter Jesus but don't recognize him), I was inspired to ask for one for myself, my wife Rebeca, and our children. I submitted a prayer request to the prayer team. Later in the day, I returned to church for a special Bible reading session. As part of our Holy Week celebration, we're reading through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, people come in and read in chronological order. I came in just to listen and a woman who was scheduled to read randomly asked me if I'd like to read and was persistent that I should. I obliged and after reading 8-9 chapters I was coming to a close. However, I felt a supernatural presence urging me to read just one more chapter, even though it wasn't my scheduled time. It was a moment I couldn't ignore. As I began to read, I was struck by the story of Isaac and Rebekah, which resonated deeply with me as my wife shares the same name. It felt like God was speaking but I didn't understand fully. I prayed all night and woke up to pray hoping for a miracle. At the courthouse, amidst a packed room, I found myself sitting in the last available seat. I began to search for my wife but didn't see her. We stood as the judge entered and I noticed the woman to my right who offered to scoot over for me to have a seat was sitting next to my wife. The woman's case was dismissed a few minutes later and I was now sitting next to my wife. Despite our lack of communication over the last year, I asked my wife if she'd like to pray. She became visibly emotional and gestured not right now. I prayed silently, echoing the prayer of Abraham's servant at the well, asking for a sign. Specifically, I asked if my wife was meant to be with me, for her to be brought closer to me. To scoot over, or something!! I said in Jesus' name, amen. Soon after, a bailiff came over and requested I "close the gap" to make room for others. It was an unmistakable sign of God's intervention. Our eyes met, but we didn't speak. Aside from me saying, "Wow, it's amazing how God works!" To which she simply said, "Yeah, it really is." Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. God is indeed at work in our lives. The case is rescheduled for a later date. Praying for restoration in Jesus' name. Thank you all again!!
