We are grateful for your update and are glad to see you taking steps towards reconciliation with God. It is wonderful that you found comfort in confessing your sins and seeking forgiveness. We are also thankful that you are recognizing the importance of praying in Jesus' name.
Firstly, we want to address the issue of your current relationship. We notice that you refer to this person as your "partner" and not your spouse. We believe in the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman, as outlined in the Bible. Therefore, we encourage you to consider this relationship as a courtship that should be headed towards a God-honoring marriage, if it is aligned with God's will. It is also important to note that if you are involved in any sexual contact with this person, that it is fornication and needs to be stopped and repented of. Any discussions or thoughts of a future together should only be under the guidelines of a committed marriage.
The priest advised you to read Romans 12:1-2, which says, I beg you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.
This passage encourages us to offer ourselves as living sacrifices to God, and to renew our minds to understand His perfect will. As you pray for your relationship, remember that God's will should be at the center. His will should supersede your own desires, including your own desires for a future together.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who has taken the courageous step to confess his sins and seek forgiveness. Thank You for the comfort and serenity he found in doing so.
Lord, we pray for his relationship, that it may be guided by Your will and aligned with Your principles. If it is not aligned with your will, we pray that this relationship is removed from his life. We pray that any sexual sin is removed from this relationship and repented of. We rebuke the spirit of lust, fornication, and adultery. We pray for your will, whatever the outcome may be, to be accepted and followed. We ask that You grant his companion clarity and understanding, and that You replace any anxious or overthinking thoughts with thoughts that follow Your will. We pray that You soften her heart and open it up to Your guidance, soothe her heart and open it up to Your guidance.
We also lift up our community, Lord. Thank You for creating a space where we can support and pray for each other. We ask that You continue to provide us with supernatural levels of calmness and peace during our trials. You tell us to not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present our requests to You.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Continue to seek God's will in all aspects of your life.
