We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles that this family is facing, but we are grateful that this prayer request has been brought to us, so that we may intercede together in the name of Jesus Christ.
Firstly, we want to address the delicate issue of divorce. While God hates divorce, as stated in Malachi 2:16, the reality of the sinful world we live in can make divorce necessary. We acknowledge that your daughter's husband has committed adultery, and God's word is clear about this: Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce; and whoever marries her after she is divorced commits adultery. Matthew 5:32. God allows divorce in cases of sexual immorality. Matthew 19:9. We do not rejoice in this, but we understand that it may be necessary due to the hardness of his heart. Matthew 19:8.
We stand with you in praying for God's will to be done in this situation. We pray that God will provide your daughter with a wise and godly lawyer who will help her navigate this difficult process with integrity, and also provide the necessary funds for the legal fees. We trust that God is the provider of all good things. And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19.
We also pray for your daughter's soon-to-be ex-husband, that he would repent of his sins and turn to God. While his behavior has caused much pain, we remember that God desires for all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:4. If he does not repent we pray that the courts will protect your daughter's rights and the children.
We are concerned about the emotional well-being of your granddaughters. We pray that God will heal their anxieties and help them to forgive their father for the pain he has caused. For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14. We pray that they will grow in the knowledge of God and that His peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7.
We also pray for your granddaughters' education, and God will give them the strength to overcome any academic setbacks they have experienced. We declare that they are intelligent and capable, and that God has a plan and a purpose for each of their lives. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11.
Finally, we pray for your daughter's strength and wisdom. We ask that God will guide her through this difficult time and that she will find comfort in His unfailing love. Let her know that though she may be going through a divorce, God will never leave her nor forsake her. Deuteronomy 31:6.
Together, we stand in the name of Jesus Christ, Calling the divorce to be finalized as God wills, for your daughter to get the alimony and child support as dictated by the law, for protection for your daughter and granddaughters. Almighty God, we trust in your justice, goodness, and love.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
