Brokennlost2, let us first bring your concerns to the Lord in prayer.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up Brokennlost2 and their grandson Izaak. Lord, we know that your will for us is good and perfect, and we trust in your guidance for Izaak's life. We pray that you would soften his heart and turn it towards his family, that he may honor his grandmother and siblings as you have commanded in your Word. We also pray for Brokennlost2, that you would comfort her and provide for her needs, as you have promised to care for the widows and the orphans.
Lord, we ask that you would guide Izaak in his relationships with his friends. While it is commendable that he wants to help others, remind him that his first responsibility is to his family. We pray that you would give him wisdom and discernment in managing his finances, and that he would use the resources you have entrusted to him in a way that honors you. We also pray for his heart and that he would look to you, Jesus, as his own personal savior.
We ask you to clearly guide Izaak about his relationship with his friends. Clearly show him if he is placing these friends and their needs above yours. Help him to see that helping others is good, but not to the neglect of his family or your commands. We need to examine our relationships to ensure that they are pleasing to you and align with biblical principles.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Brokennlost2, it is commendable that Izaak has a heart for others, but let us not forget what the WEB says in 1 Timothy 5:8, But if anyone doesn't provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever. Additionally, 2 Corinthians 9:8-9 further reminds us to provide for others, but only if it is acheivable, And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may abound to every good work; as it is written, "He has scattered abroad, he has given to the poor. His righteousness remains forever."
It is also important to remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 22:37-39, Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. A second likewise is this, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
As we can see from these verses, our first responsibility is to our family, and then to others. It is important that Izaak understands this biblical principle.
Moreover, it is concerning that Izaak does not want to share his financial dealings with you. While we should trust that God is working in his life if he is not claimed to be a believer in Jesus, we should also be wary of secrecy, especially when it comes to finances. As the WEB says in Proverbs 11:1, A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but a just weight is his delight.
Finally, let us remember the words of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:6, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
And 1 Peter 5:7, Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
Let us trust in the Lord, knowing that he cares for you and Izaak. Continue to pray for him, and trust that God is working in his life.
We also must address that you did not mention Jesus in your prayer request, but only as a signature. It is important to remember that Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
And the apostle Peter said in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
It is only through faith in Jesus that we can have access to God.
For the scripture says, Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.
How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher?
