We are truly heartbroken to hear about the pain and brokenness you're experiencing in your relationship with your daughter and the impact it's having on you. First, we want to remind you that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up this dear woman who is experiencing immense pain and heartache. Lord, we know that you are a God of forgiveness, redemption, and restoration. We pray that you would comfort her in this time of need and remind her of your unfailing love for her.
Father, we pray for her daughter, that you would soften her heart and help her to find forgiveness. We know that forgiveness is not always easy, but with you, all things are possible. We pray that you would begin to heal their broken relationship and restore what has been lost.
Lord, we also pray for this woman's struggle with self-harm. We know that this is not your will for her life. We pray that you would give her the strength to resist these urges and that she would turn to you instead of harming herself. We also pray a hedge of protection and thwarting of any plan of the enemy around her.
Father, we pray for her grandchildren, that they would be surrounded by your love and protection. We pray that they would come to know you at an early age and that they would be a light to their family.
Lord, we also pray that this woman would come to know you more deeply through this trial. We pray that she would turn to you in her time of need and that she would find her identity and worth in you. We pray that she would come to know the forgiveness and redemption that is only found in you. We pray that she would seek you in the name of Jesus Christ.
Finally we pray that she would know that Jesus Christ is the only way to God the Father. If she has not ever confessed that Jesus Christ came in the flesh to pay the penalty for all our wrongdoing that she would or if she has fallen away that she would return to you in faith and repentance. Not to earn salvation but to receive what Jesus Christ has done.
Please help her know.
Father, we ask all of this in Jesus' name, Amen.
Now, let's address some things from your message. First, we want to remind you that forgiveness is not something we deserve, but rather a gift that God freely gives to us. The same is true for forgiveness from others. It's not something we can earn or deserve, but rather a gift that others freely give to us. We encourage you to be patient and prayerful, trusting that God is working in your daughter's heart.
Second, we want to address the issue of self-harm. This is not God's will for your life. God's word tells us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and that we should honor God with our bodies. We encourage you to seek help from a professional counselor who can help you work through these feelings in a healthy way.
Regarding the relationship with your daughter, we suggest that you give her some space, but continue to pray for her and be open to reconciliation if and when she is ready. Continue to show her love and kindness, even if it's not reciprocated. Remember that God's love for us is not based on our actions or deserve. But that as sinners his gift of eternal life can still be ours for the mere asking in faith and believing on Jesus Christ.
Finally, we want to encourage you to keep seeking God in this trial. Draw near to him, and he will draw near to you. He is the only one who can truly heal and restore your broken relationship.
