Until The Glory Of God Covers The Earth As The Waters Cover The Seas...

Until the name of God the Father of Jesus is being honored as it should be on earth like is is now being honored in heaven, and Jesus Christ has set up His Earthly Kingdom for 1000 Years, this command of Jesus to pray like this and pray after this manner, Matt 6:9-14; Luke 11:1-5, will be posted and prayed for until it's meaning is fully understood and the Glory of God is actually yearned for by believers even and especially before their own pressing needs. There is a place for the believer's needs, and if one goes through the list of page after page it is practically all the Christian church prays for is their own pressing needs, but since the clear teaching of Jesus is to seek first God's Kingdom and pray for His Name to be Honored, His Kingdom to Come, and for His Will to be done, even before daily bread, forgiveness and protection, it is bewildering to the astute reader of the Bible why we have things so upside down, therefore this clarification is needed, and the reverse is actually asked: how is it we do not consider that The Father's Name would Be Honored, The Coming of The Kingdom Of Christ and The Will of God being done perfectly as Prayer Requests, when it is so clearly taught as the foremost subjects we should be praying about by Jesus Christ? May the Lord add his blessing to the Word. May it spread rapidly and be glorified (2Thes 3:1-3). In Jesus Name.

Numbers 14:21
But truly, as I live, and as all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.

Isaiah 11:9
They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.

Habakkuk 2:14
For the earth will be filled With the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, As the waters cover the sea.

Matt 6:9
Pray, then, in this way: 'Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.

Luke 11:1-2
It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, after He had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray just as John also taught his disciples." And He said to them, "When you pray, say: 'Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come."

Thank you, Rick. It is a subtle adjustment, but the difference of living for the purpose for which we were created, or somehow, through secular humanism, letting the purpose we were created (to glorify God and enjoy Him forever) lie somewhere as a peripheral. The shift from deliberately Seeking God's Honor, Kingdom and Will first, temporarily forgetting our own pressing needs, is the difference of living to Worship God or letting some other idol be the purpose of our devotion. How many times is our worship hindered by distractions, if not in our inner rooms, how much more in church? That's why there is child care and a children's church, and why it was hard to find Jesus in the mornings, he, arising before the day began, would seek a place free from distractions, so He could pray about the Topics He taught us to, The Name of God, The Kingdom of God, and the will of God; and then descend to our needs on earth (provision, forgiveness, relation to others that sin and protection from sin and evil of every kind (sicknesses, hurt, harm, et cetera).

Jesus said, "For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me" (John 6:38). Jesus went so far as to link believing faith, or salvation with this principle, "How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and you do not SEEK the glory that is from the one and only God?" (John 5:44). Wow. We are to Seek God's glory, and Jesus asked how the pharisees could even believe without this as a primary motivation. It is as Paul states in Romans 1, "they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever, amen" (Rom 1:25). There is no place more important to actually worship God as while we are actually in the place of prayer, in the secret place that Jesus taught us, again, for Good Reasons, All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, correction, and training in righteousness, that the servant of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work" (2 Tim 3:16-17).

I agree. The Lord taught me the hard way...because I was set in my ways, not His. On one occasion, because of persistent prayer which was not of His Will, he gave me what I had asked for. It was one of the worst times in my life. I sincerely learned that His Will is better than anything I could ask for. His Will for each of us can be found in His Word. God Bless you greatly.

As I read through all the prayers listed, though many are great and pressing needs, I am amazed that more do not consider the glory of God. That is why Jesus taught us first to pray That His Father receive Honor, then his Kingdom would Come, then His will be done. Jesus seemed to have this...
