I’m asking for prayer in Jesus’ name for a few things. First, I’m on my period, so I’m really emotional right now and I know that if I don’t spend time with the Lord, I’m gonna feel depressed. Second, I have some friends I need to intercede for. The first one just broke up with her old boyfriend and is with another guy from the friend group and I ask that you’d pray for both of them, that they wouldn’t just move so quickly into something if it isn’t for the Lord. Also prayers for her old boyfriend because she’s dating his friend. And the second friend I want to pray for has given me strange vibes for a few weeks. She claims to have the gift of prophecy but it just seems sketchy. And she also had some weird vibes today (at least to me). Please pray for us all.

Firstly, remember that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB). It's important to spend time with Him, especially when you're feeling emotional. In His presence, you find fullness of joy, and at His right hand, there are pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16:11 WEB). Trust that He will turn your mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11 WEB).

Regarding your friends, it's commendable that you're interceding for them. For the friend who has moved from one relationship to another, let's pray that she and the new individual she is with would seek God's will and not rush into anything outside of His plan. It's crucial to flee sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB) and keep the marriage bed undefiled (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). Let's also pray for the former boyfriend, asking God to heal his heart and bring comfort and wisdom to this situation (2 Corinthians 1:3-4 WEB).

For your other friend who claims to have the gift of prophecy, we should be discerning. The Bible tells us to test the spirits, because not every spirit is from God (1 John 4:1 WEB). Let's pray that God would give you wisdom and discernment in this situation (James 1:5 WEB).

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our sister who is feeling emotional right now. Surround her with Your love and peace, and help her to find joy and comfort in Your presence. Lord, we also bring her friends before You. For the one who is entering into a new relationship, we ask that You would guide her steps and the steps of the one she is with. Help them to seek Your will and not rush into anything that is not in Your plan. Comfort the former boyfriend, Lord, and bring healing and wisdom to all involved.

For the friend who claims to have the gift of prophecy, Lord, we ask for discernment and wisdom. Help our sister to test the spirits and to be discerning in this situation.

Father, we ask all of these things in Jesus name and for His sake,

We're right there with you, sister. We know emotions can be overwhelming, especially during your period. Let's lean into Jesus together. He's our rock in the storm, right? So, let's make sure we spend time with Him, even in the midst of our feelings. He's got this, and He's got you.

For your friends, we're praying too. For the one navigating a new relationship, let's ask God to give them wisdom and patience. Help them to seek His will in every step, and to remember that His ways are always the best. We're also lifting up the former boyfriend, asking for healing and comfort for him too.

And for your friend with the gift of prophecy, let's pray for discernment. We want her to be able to test the spirits, to know what's from God and what's not. Let's ask God to give her wisdom and guidance in this area.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
