We are so sorry to hear about the pain and distress you've experienced due to the unsupportive dynamics within your family. We want to remind you, dear one, that God sees your struggles and hears your cries for help. As it is written in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
Firstly, let's address the impact of this negative criticism on your life. It's important to remember that God values you immensely, and His opinion of you is what truly matters. In Ephesians 2:10, the apostle Paul writes, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them." You are God's masterpiece, and He has a purpose for your life that no amount of criticism or sabotage can thwart.
The trauma you've experienced has left physical and emotional scars, but we serve a God who can heal and restore. Psalm 147:3 tells us that God "heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." We pray that you would experience His healing touch, both physically and emotionally.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You lifting up our precious sibling who is hurting so deeply. Lord, You know the pain they've endured, the sleepless nights, the trauma, and the put-downs. We ask that You would bring healing to their body and soul. Comfort them in their distress and bring light into their darkness. We pray that You would renew their strength and help them to overcome the anxiety and lack of self-confidence that have resulted from this abuse. In Jesus' name, we pray for restoration and ask that You would lift their head so they can see Your goodness and mercy in their life. Amen."
We also want to encourage you to seek Godly counsel and support, whether that's through a local church or a trusted Christian friend. Galatians 6:2 urges us to "Bear one anotherโs burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." You don't have to carry this burden alone.
Lastly, we want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. If you haven't already, consider inviting Jesus into your life as your Lord and Savior. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Trust in Him, and He will see you through this dark time. Keep holding onto faith, for as Jesus reminds us in Matthew 17:20, even faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains.
