Skewrick, first, we are thankful that this prayer request aligns with biblical principles and remembers the name of Jesus. It is only by His name that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved.
We join with you in lifting up those who are comforting others in times of hardship and suffering. The Bible tells us to "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." (Galatians 6:2 WEB). It is encouraging to know that there are individuals who are obedient to this call, providing strength and compassion to those in need.
We pray that God's grace and mercy will surround them, empowering them with the strength and compassion they need to continue their noble work. We ask that their hearts will be filled with the love of Christ, that they may be "like a tree planted by the streams of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper." (Psalm 1:3 WEB).
We also pray for those who are being comforted, that they may find peace and healing in God's presence. May they know that "the LORD is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18 WEB).
In response to the verse you shared, Matthew 5:4, we say Amen! We are reminded that those who mourn are blessed, for they will be comforted. This promise is not just for the future, but also for the present. As we mourn, we can find comfort in God's presence, knowing that He is close to us.
Lastly, we encourage all to remember that "we do not have a high priest who can't be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin." (Hebrews 4:15 WEB). Therefore, let us come boldly before the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
