Father in Heaven, we come before you in the name of Jesus, asking for the gift of the Holy Spirit of wisdom and revelation. We desire to have a spiritual hunger for the sincere milk of the Word, as mentioned in 1 Peter 2:2. Lord, we ask that you open our minds to understand and put the Scriptures together like a puzzle, as stated in Luke 24:45. Help us to grasp the depth and richness of your Word.
We also ask for your provision of our daily bread, as Jesus taught us to pray in Matthew 6:11. Lord, we rely on you for our physical and spiritual sustenance. Give us the discipline and strength to engage in daily Bible reading, using both chronological and systematic plans. May we find joy in our journey through your Word, line upon line, as Isaiah 50:4 encourages us to do.
Holy Spirit, we invite you to guide us and reveal the wisdom and understanding found in the Scriptures. Help us to apply what we learn in our daily lives and to share it with others. Grant us the ability to have meaningful conversations with you and fellow believers after each reading, as we seek to grow in knowledge and intimacy with you.
We thank you, Father, for the promise in Ephesians 1:17 that you will give us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation. We trust that you will fulfill this promise as we seek you diligently through the study of your Word. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
