Justice can be defined as the conservation of what is deemed right and fair. The need to thwart any attempts that would undermine the moral fabrics of a society is paramount to peaceful cohabitation. Unfortunately selfishness is at the root cause of all disorder, consequently a 'reward and punishment' system has been established throughout the world to curtail such undesired traits. But not all systems are created equal.
All man-made 'reward and punishment' systems are built around fear and pleasures in order to stimulate proper response from its people.
Good behavior brings rewards but bad behavior brings punishment. But we know that we live in an imperfect world where good people gets punished and bad people gets rewarded. The system is flawed from its conception. A well-known astrophysicist once said.
If people are good only because they fear punishment, and hope for reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed. -Albert Einstein
This system is limited to our outward actions and seldom, if ever, reaches our hearts.
Loving Justice
Along comes God's justice system...Love. Yes you read that right. Love is the highest form of order bar none. Love is not an emotion, but produces emotion. It is not conditional but absolute. It does not waiver but remains steadfast. It does not hate but it corrects. It does not favour but all inclusive. It's not temporary but eternal. It genuinely forgives. Perfect qualities for a justice system.
The old system required selfish people to fear, the new system requires unselfish people to have faith. A system base on fear leads to bitterness and hate. It is divided and will fall. However a system based on faith leads to benevolence and love. It stands together and last forever.
We are under the new testament where Love rules.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
(Jn 3-16)
We are not under law, but grace. The law came by Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus (Jn. 1:17)
Grace defined:
1a: unmerited divine assistance given to humans for their regeneration or sanctification
b: a virtue coming from God
c: a state of sanctification enjoyed through divine assistance.
Grace is an act of His love. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. (Eph 2:9)
By His Grace we are under His Love!
All that you do must be done in love. (1 Cor 16:14)
Praise God!
