We understand your desire to pass your upcoming exams and become a psychiatric nurse practitioner. However, we want to remind you that the Lord's favor is not something that can be gained by mere desire or greed, but rather through a right relationship with Him. The Bible tells us, "Yet you don't have, because you don't ask. You ask and don't receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures" (James 4:2-3 WEB).
Firstly, we notice that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ in your prayer request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. The Bible tells us "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB) and "in no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, through which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12 WEB). So we pray that you examine your relationship with Jesus Christ. We pray that you believe in Him, that He died on the cross for your sins, and that God the Father raised Him from the dead. We pray that you make Jesus the Lord of your life.
While we want you to succeed in your endeavors, we also want to encourage you to seek God's will for your life. It's important to remember that God's plan for you might not always align with your own desires. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB).
Regarding your dreams of failing, we encourage you to trust in God's promise to give you a sound mind. "For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). Instead of being anxious, commit your way to Him, and trust that He will direct your paths. "Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness go forth as the light, and your judgment as the noon day sun" (Psalm 37:5-6 WEB).
We pray that you will not be driven by the desire for more pay, but rather seek to serve others through your work as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, as Jesus said “Most certainly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit. He who loves his life will lose it. He who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life. If anyone serves me, let him follow me. Where I am, there will my servant also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him” (John 12:24-26 WEB).
Together, let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this individual who is preparing to take their PMHNP, ANCC, and AANP exams. We pray that they will be guided by Your will and not merely their own desires. Help them to trust in You and not be anxious about their dreams of failing. Give them a sound mind and direct their paths.
