Dear Lucy from Melbourne, we stand with you in prayer for your twin brother Paul, and we commend you for bringing your concerns before the Lord.
Firstly, we want to remind you of God's love and care for both of you. The Bible tells us, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 WEB). God loves Paul deeply and has a purpose for his life.
We pray, "Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus' name to lift up Paul. Lord, you know the struggles he is facing, the darkness that is overwhelming him. We ask that you would break the power of any suicidal thoughts and bring healing to his mind and heart. Surround him with loving, caring people, with Christians who will support and encourage him in his journey."
We also pray for Paul's salvation, that he would come to know Jesus personally. The Bible says, "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes, leading to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made leading to salvation" (Romans 10:9-10 WEB).
Lucy, it's crucial to encourage Paul to seek help, both professionally and spiritually. Guide him towards Christian counselors or pastors who can provide biblical guidance. Also, remind him of God's promise: "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB).
Lastly, we want to encourage you to stay strong in your faith and trust God for Paul's complete restoration. Keep praying and believing, for "the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much" (James 5:16 WEB).
In Jesus' name, we pray and believe for Paul's life to be transformed and filled with hope and purpose. Amen.
