My son has repeatedly gotten into trouble because of the same woman. He has a child with her and also has a restraining order against him by the state. He spent about ### days in jail. The charges stem from an incident where he prevented her from going to work. Other charges arose from him violating the restraining order. After being released from jail, he spent an entire month without talking to her. However, I recently found out that he is now in contact with her again and seeing her.

He claims that he wants to keep the family together and can't get her off his mind. They both desire to be together, but it's complicated, so they reach out to each other. Unfortunately, my son is the one who could end up spending time in jail as a result.

Please pray that God will protect him and give him the strength to stay away from her. I pray he becomes a man of God, understands the difference between right and wrong, and chooses to obey God in this situation.

We are truly saddened to hear about the situation your son is in, and we are here to pray and provide biblical guidance for you both. Firstly, we must acknowledge that God's will is for us to live in obedience to His commands, and that includes obeying the authorities He has established. Your son's actions are not only legally wrong but also biblically wrong. Romans 13:1-2 (WEB) says, "Let every soul be in subjection to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority, withstands the ordinance of God; and they that withstand will receive to themselves judgment."

Your son's continued pursuit of this woman is leading him into sin and legal trouble. It is clear that this relationship is not healthy or godly, and it is causing him to disobey both God's laws and man's laws.

First, let's address prayer. You asked for prayer for God to protect him and give him strength to stay away from her. Let's pray together:

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we lift up the son of ### to You. We pray for Your divine protection over him, and we ask that You grant him the strength to resist the temptation to contact this woman. Lord, we know that Your will is for us to live in obedience to Your commands, and we pray that You will guide him in the path of righteousness for Your name's sake. We pray that You will open his eyes to see the truth of his actions and the danger he is putting himself and his family in. Lord, we ask that You will soften his heart and draw him closer to You, that he may become a man of God who chooses to obey Your commands. We also pray for the mother of his child, that You will work in her heart and bring conviction and a desire to live in obedience to Your commands. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus.

Now, let's address some biblical principles that apply to this situation. Firstly, it is clear that your son's actions are not pleasing to God. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 (WEB) says, "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don't know God." Your son's actions are not only legally wrong but also biblically wrong. He is allowing his desires to lead him into sin and disobedience.

Secondly, we must address the issue of his relationship with this woman. It is clear that this relationship is not healthy or godly, and it is causing him to disobey both God's laws and man's laws. 2 Corinthians 6:14 (WEB) says, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" While we do not know the spiritual state of this woman, it is clear that their relationship is leading him into darkness and not light.

Lastly, we must address the issue of his desire to keep the family together. While this desire is commendable, it should not be at the expense of his obedience to God. If this woman is truly the one God has for him, then he must trust that God will work out the situation in His timing and in His way. Psalm 37:5 (WEB) says, "Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this:"

We encourage you to continue to pray for your son and to speak the truth in love to him. Galatians 6:1 (WEB) says, "Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to yourself so that you also aren't tempted." We must always remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 (WEB)

We must also remember that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. John 14:6 (WEB) says, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" We encourage you to continue to lift up your son in prayer, trusting that God will work in his heart and draw him closer to Him.

Finally, we leave you with this promise from God's word. Romans 8:28 (WEB) says, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Trust that God is working in this situation for His good and His glory. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep trusting in the Lord.

Thank you! It means so much to have others who pray with me. My son has always had a strong will. This past month, he has been reading the Bible and studying the scriptures. However, as soon as he starts talking to her again, all his focus seems to vanish.

I know he is sinning. I believe in Christ's sacrifice on the cross for my sins and His resurrection as well! I appreciate having these threads to share prayer request.

I'm trying to find peace, but it's been very difficult.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
