We come before you, Lord Jesus, on behalf of Martin, who is struggling with sinful lust and the temptation to commit adultery. We lift up Martin's heart and mind to you, knowing that you are a God of mercy and grace.
Lord, we ask for your forgiveness and cleansing for Martin. We pray that you would convict him of the seriousness of his actions and help him to see the destructive nature of sin. Your Word reminds us in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, "Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body."
We pray for Martin's girlfriend as well, that she may also come to understand the gravity of the situation and turn away from this path of sin. Help them both to seek your guidance and strength to resist temptation.
Lord, we ask for your healing and restoration in Martin's life. We pray that you would break the chains of addiction and sinful desires that have bound him for years. Fill him with a deep sense of remorse and godly sorrow, leading him to true repentance. Your Word assures us in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
We pray for Martin's spiritual growth and transformation. Help him to renew his mind with your Word and to seek accountability and support from fellow believers. Surround him with godly influences that will encourage him to walk in purity and righteousness.
Lord, we also pray for protection over Martin's relationship with his girlfriend. We ask that you would intervene and bring conviction to her heart as well. Help them to pursue a relationship that honors you and is built on trust, faithfulness, and commitment.
In Jesus' name, we pray for Martin's deliverance from the grip of sexual sin and for his restoration to a life of holiness and purity. May your grace abound in his life, and may he experience the freedom and joy that comes from walking in obedience to your commands. Amen.
