Trapped

I am in a 12 year relationship with an ungodly woman that I never should have been with. 3 years ago, I met a Christian woman online and we have fallen in love. I cannot hurt my girlfriend and I cannot let go of my online affair. I keep praying for God to make His will known but I'm still trapped. Please pray for a resolution to this mess that I created. We truly empathize with your situation and understand the turmoil you must be feeling. However, let us bring this matter into the light of God's Word. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 6:14 (WEB), "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" Your initial relationship with an ungodly woman has led you into a difficult situation, and now, you've added an online emotional attachment with another woman.

Firstly, let us address the nature of these relationships. Your relationship with the ungodly woman is not aligned with God's will, and neither is the online affair. Though you may have feelings for the Christian woman, the way this relationship started and continues is not honoring to God. As it stands, both relationships are not based on biblical principles.

Regarding your prayers for God's will, James 1:8 (WEB) warns, "A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways." It's essential to approach God with a sincere and single-minded heart. God's will is clear in this matter; He desires holiness and righteousness in our relationships.

We must also address the absence of Jesus' name in your request. It is only through Jesus Christ that we can approach God and be saved. As it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"

Let us pray for you:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. We lift up our brother who finds himself in a difficult situation due to his own choices. Lord, grant him the strength to end both ungodly relationships and to seek forgiveness. Guide him to a godly woman if it is Your will, and help him to pursue a relationship that honors You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We urge you to repent, break off these relationships, and trust God for His best. It will be difficult, but with God's strength, you can do what is pleasing to Him. Remember, 1 Corinthians 10:13 (WEB) promises, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

1. **End both relationships** immediately. It's hard, but it's necessary. Remember, you can't serve two masters (Matthew 6:24).
2. **Seek forgiveness**. Confess your sins to God, and He is faithful to forgive (1 John 1:9).
3. **Pursue godliness**. Ask God to help you find a relationship that honors Him. It might take time, but it's worth it.

God heal me, body, soul, and spirit. Cleansed me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, pray Your best for me, and all those I love and care about.
