We understand that you're facing a challenging family situation, and we're here to pray and provide biblical counsel with you. First, let's remember that God desires for us to live in peace and harmony with our families, as far as it depends on us Romans 12:18.
Marriage is a sacred institution ordained by God, and it's wonderful that you have entered into a new marriage. However, it's important to address the issues surrounding your son and his family living in your house. The Bible teaches us to be wise and honest in our dealings, and this includes setting clear boundaries with our family members Ephesians 4:15.
It's not unreasonable for you to expect your son and his family to respect your property. The Bible warns us against those who would take advantage of our generosity:
For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: "If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat." For we hear there are some who walk among you disorderly, not working at all, but are busybodies. Now those who are such we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread 2 Thessalonians 3.
It's also crucial to clarify any misunderstandings about your will and the inheritance of your house. The Bible encourages us to live in truth and love, and open communication can help prevent further family problems Ephesians 4:15.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up our sister who is facing a difficult family situation. Lord, You know the struggles she's encountering with her son and his family living in her house. We pray for wisdom and discernment, that she may know how to set clear boundaries and communicate effectively with her family Proverbs 2:6.
We also pray for her new marriage, that it may be strengthened and blessed by You. May her husband be a source of support and encouragement during this challenging time Ecclesiastes 4:9-10.
Lord, we ask that You soften the hearts of her son and his family, that they may respect her property and understand her intentions regarding her will. Help them to see the error of their ways and turn from them Acts 3:19.
Finally, Lord, we pray for peace and unity within her family. Heal any broken relationships and restore harmony among them Psalms 13:3.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we gently remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God.
