We join with you, Anonymous, in lifting up your husband to the Lord Jesus Christ, the Great Physician. We are reminded of the centurion's faith in Matthew 8:5-13, where he asked Jesus to heal his servant, demonstrating his unwavering belief in Jesus' authority. In the same way, we come boldly to the throne of grace in Jesus’ name.
Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging the power and mercy of the Lord Jesus. There is power in that wonderful name. The Bible tells us in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and it is only by believing in Jesus Christ that we can be saved. Often when people are sick they will go to anyone, anywhere, and anything that promises healing. We often forget that God is the ultimate healer and that he gave us the Bible to guide us in spiritual and physical health. We need to be careful of practitioners that use eastern religions and unBiblical methods to try to heal us. The western world is especially prone to these traps.
Regarding your husband's health, we stand with you in prayer, asking God to heal him of all his illnesses and restore him to full health. We pray in Jesus' name, as the Bible tells us, "Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." James 5:14-16 WEB. Furthermore, we are told to call on the elders of the church to anoint and pray for the sick. This is an important Biblical step that many Christians skip. Have you spoken with elders in your church about your husband's condition?
We pray for God's mercy and grace to be upon your husband, that He would relieve him of his sufferings and heal his wounds quickly and completely. We ask that God would give both of you the strength and endurance to bear this trial with patience and thanksgiving, knowing that God is faithful and His love for you is unfailing.
In the midst of this trial, we encourage you to continue trusting in God's goodness and faithfulness. Remember the words of Paul in Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Trust that God is working even in this difficult situation to bring about His purposes in your lives.
Lastly, we exhort you to examine your lives and see if there is any sin that needs to be confessed and repented of. Sometimes, illness can be a result of unconfessed sin, as Jesus himself said in John 5:14, "Behold, you are made well. Sin no more, so that nothing worse happens to you." We encourage you to pray and ask God to reveal any areas of sin that may need to be addressed.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your healing power to be upon our dear brother. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we trust in Your ability to heal and restore. Please touch his body, heal his wounds, and relieve him of his sufferings. Give both of them the strength to endure this trial with patience and thanksgiving. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying fervently and to seek the support of your local church body during this time. Do not let your faith waver but believe that Jesus took on stripes to heal your husband.
