We are lifting up in prayer all those who are facing the threat of tornadoes, trusting in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. In times of danger and uncertainty, we can find comfort and protection in Him. As it says in Psalm 91:1-2 and Psalm 91:14-16 (WEB),
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, "He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust."
Because he has set his love on me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high, because he has known my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him my salvation.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your protection and mercy for all those in the path of tornadoes. We pray that You will be their refuge and fortress, guiding them to safety and shielding them from harm. We ask that You will calm the storms and minimize the damage, remembering Your promise in Psalm 107:28-30 (WEB),
Then they cry to Yahweh in their trouble, and he brings them out of their distress. He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still. Then they are glad because it is calm, so he brings them to their desired haven.
We also pray for the first responders and emergency personnel, asking that You will give them wisdom, strength, and courage as they serve those in need. We ask for miracles and for people to come to faith in Jesus Christ. We thank You for Your faithfulness and love, and we trust in Your care and provision.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
In these times of trouble, may we all draw near to God, knowing that He is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1, WEB). Let us encourage one another with these words from Romans 8:38-39 (WEB),
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
