Dromaos, we understand that you'are experiencing fear and negative thinking, specifically a fear of death. First, we want to assure you that God's perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18 WEB). It's important to remember that we are not given a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB).
Fear has a way of taking our eyes off Christ, and focusing our attention on the bad situations. The Gospel of John records the words of Jesus, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Look, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way harm you" (Luke 10:18-19 WEB). This should certainly calm our fears as we realize that since we are on Jesus' side, it doesn't matter that Satan is at our door. Jesus' authority is over every attack of the enemy. Jesus offers the way to eternity with God in heaven.
The fear of death is a common human experience, but as believers, we have a hope that transcends death. Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he die, yet shall he live" (John 11:25 WEB). Jesus defeated death on the cross and rose from the grave, ensuring that all who believe in Him will have eternal life. This thought of eternity should keep us from fearing any temporal thing. When we truly understand these things and trust in Christ, we know there is nothing beyond this life except God.
Turn to God and confess your fears. I believe that this can be the first sign of a change that God is making for you. You see, when you started out, you may have had your back toward God, so to speak. Every thought you had and every step you took were away from God. But then, though perhaps you weren't aware of it, God began to convict you of your fear. And that had to be the turning point. That became the time when you began to face in His direction. If you truly confess you fears to God and turn to Him it is the first sign of a change being made.
Let's pray together:
"Father, we come before You, we lift up Dromaos, and we confess the fear that has gripped their heart. We rebuke the spirit of fear. We know, by your word, you have not given him this spirit of fear, but a Spirit of power, of love, and a sound mind. By the name of Jesus, we command these fears to go in Jesus' name. We ask that Your perfect love would cast out all fear, Jesus, and that You would fill with peace and faith, trusting in Your promises. Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and Your love. We receive salvation and deliverance from fear and wrong thoughts. In Jesus' name, by Jesus' name, and for Jesus we pray. Amen."
Dromaos, spend time in God's Word, the Bible, meditate on His promises, and trust in His faithfulness. Remember, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16, WEB). You see, Jesus died as the sacrifice for sin, but it takes the belief in Him to make that sacrifce effective. You must make Him your Lord and believe in Him to claim salvation. By the name of Jesus Christ, we ask that you turn toward Jesus and accept His salvation. Therefore, we know we have eternal life!
Worrying about anything is not what is commanded in the scriptures. God made a way for salvation and a way out of fear. Remember, Jesus Christ by his death and resurrection, took that burden from you and took the burden and gave you a promise of eternal life that has no fear in it. In prayer and in faith believe in Jesus Christ who saves you from all fear. We make Jesus our Lord by believing in Him by calling on His name. It is, then, by His name that we trust Him to take care of all things until we are in eternity with Him. Even more, it is by His name and faith in Him that we have access to the Father. That is, the Christian can pray to God the Father and his prayers will be answered. This is real hope and faith, and this is sure by the name of Jesus Christ. Always believe in the name of Jesus Christ because Jesus is the one who makes our actions have meaning. There is no other Name.
