We understand that you're feeling bad about the situation with the Syrian hairdresser and her wife. First, let's remember what the WEB says in Galatians 5:22-23, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. It's commendable that you're seeking to grow in these areas.
In Ephesians 4:32, we're told, And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. It's important to remember that we're all human and make mistakes. The wife may not have understood your instructions due to a language barrier or may have made an honest mistake. It's also possible that she is still learning the trade.
While it's understandable that you were unhappy with the service, let's remember Colossians 3:13, bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.
Let's pray together:
Dear Lord, we come before you, asking for your grace and mercy. Help Lucy to forgive and show kindness, just as you have forgiven us. Help her to communicate effectively and patiently, remembering that we all make mistakes. Lord, if there was any misunderstanding, please clarify it. If there was any wrongdoing, please help both parties to forgive and move forward.
Lord, we also pray for the Syrian family. We thank you for their safety and pray that you continue to provide for them. We pray that they find kindness and understanding in their new community. We pray that Lucy does indeed become more and more like Jesus Christ and grows in the fruit of the Spirit.
In Jesus Christ's name we pray, Amen.
In your future interactions, consider communicating your expectations clearly and kindly, and remember that patience and forgiveness are key aspects of the fruit of the Spirit. It's wonderful that you're seeking to grow more like Jesus. Keep praying and seeking God's will in all things.
