We join you, Powers, in lifting up this prayer to our loving Father in heaven. We are grateful that you have acknowledged the power and authority of Jesus Christ and His Name because it is in His Name that we have access to God. He is our mediator. We are assured by scripture that our prayers are heard and answered.
In addressing your prayer, let us first remember the words of 2 Thessalonians 3:3 WEB, But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.
Father, we ask that You protect and heal Powers and their children. Deliver them from the evil one, just as You promised in Your Word. Guide them daily through the Holy Spirit to grow closer to Jesus. Give them spiritual strength and consistent hunger to know him and seek his face continually.
We are also reminded of Ephesians 6:11 WEB, which tells us to Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. In addition to asking for protection, let us encourage you, Powers, to put on daily the full armor of God. This includes the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit. You and your children can stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Please also include in your prayers the words of John 17:5, which speaks of how Jesus protected His disciples by the power of God's name. You can keep yourselves safe as well (in the name of Jesus). Strength is found in His Name.
Lastly, Powers and all believers are encouraged in Jesus' own prayer for us in John 17:15,17-19 WEB, I pray that you would keep them from the evil one. Sanctify them in your truth; your word is truth. This prayer acknowledges that God's Word is truth, and it is through His Word that we are sanctified and kept from the evil one. Make prayer and God's Word a part of your daily life, teaching them to your children as well.
As you continue to grow closer to Jesus, make a commitment to live a blameless life by keeping his commandments and following his teachings. This is genuine Christanity lived out.
