Since the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ 2000 years ago,
43 million Christians have become martyrs!
Over 50% of these were in the last century alone.
Each day more than 200 million Christians face persecution, 60% are children.
Every day over 300 Christians are killed for their faith in Jesus Christ.
Dear Lord Jesus,
Today is a day of prayer for your persecuted church. I stand in prayer with millions of other believers to raise a prayer before your throne for our persecuted brethren.
We pray they will know the hope Jesus gives (Ephesians 1:18).
We pray the Holy Spirit will strengthen them (Ephesians 3:16).
We pray they will know how much God loves them (Ephesians 3:17)
We pray they will know how to share the gospel (Ephesians 6:19).
We pray they will fearlessly tell others about Jesus (Ephesians 6:20).
Bless them, Protect them, Shelter them, Save them, Oh Lord We pray. In the name of Jesus, our Lord and King.
We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
—2 Corinthians 4:8-11
But the Lord is with me as a dread warrior;
therefore my persecutors will stumble;
they will not overcome me.
They will be greatly shamed,
for they will not succeed.
Their eternal dishonor
will never be forgotten.
—Jeremiah 20:11
