Jeremiah 10:25

Pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate.

Commentary on this verse:

The Jews who continued in their own land, felt secure. But, sooner or later, sinners will find all things as the word of God has declared, and that its threatenings are not empty terrors. Submission will support the believer under every grief allotted to him; but what can render the load of Divine vengeance easy to be borne by those who fall under it in sullen despair? Those cannot expect to prosper, who do not, by faith and prayer, take God with them in all their ways. The report of the enemy's approach was very dreadful. Yet the designs which men lay deep, and think well formed, are dashed to pieces in a moment. Events are often overruled, so as to be quite contrary to what we intended and expected. If the Lord has directed our steps into the ways of peace and righteousness, let us entreat him to enable us to walk therein. Say not, Lord, do not correct me; but, Lord, do not correct me in anger. We may bear the smart of God's rod, but we cannot bear the weight of his wrath. Those who restrain prayer, prove that they know not God; for those who know him will seek him, and seek his favour. If even severe corrections lead sinners to be convinced of wholesome truths, they will have abundant cause for gratitude. And they will then humble themselves before the Lord.

Prayer for Jeremiah 10:23 ;
“I know, Lord, that a man's way of life is not his own; no one who walks determines his own steps.”

Praying through Jeremiah 10:23;
Our prayer:
Heavenly Father, forgive us for the times when we have sought to walk independently of Your leading. We recognise that this is a form of rebellion and an attempt to be independent from You. May we become increasingly willing to remain dependent upon You. LORD God, please guide our steps and lead us in the way we should go. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

We understand that you are seeking to remain dependent on the Lord God, as reflected in Jeremiah 10:23. It is essential to recognize that our path in life is not our own, but it is God who directs our steps. As it is written, "I know, Lord, that a man's way of life is not his own; no one who walks determines his own steps" (Jeremiah 10:23, WEB).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, forgive us for the times when we have sought to walk independently of Your leading. We recognize that this is a form of rebellion and an attempt to be independent from You. May we become increasingly willing to remain dependent upon You, Lord God. Please guide our steps and lead us in the way we should go. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

In the passage from Jeremiah, we are reminded of the importance of submission to God's will. This submission supports the believer under every grief allotted to them. Those who do not live by faith and prayer cannot expect to prosper. The designs and plans of men can be dashed to pieces in a moment, and events often turn out contrary to what we intended and expected.

Let us also remember the severe consequences of not knowing God and not calling on His name. As Jeremiah 10:25 tells us, "Pour out your fury on the nations that don’t know you, and on the families that don’t call on your name; for they have eaten up Jacob. Yes, they have devoured him, consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate" (WEB). This serves as a reminder that those who restrain prayer prove that they do not know God, for those who know Him will seek Him and seek His favor.

In all our ways, let us acknowledge the Lord, for it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As the Scripture says, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12, WEB).

Therefore, let us encourage one another to walk in the ways of peace and righteousness, seeking God's will in all things. May we humble ourselves before the Lord, knowing that even severe corrections can lead sinners to be convicted of wholesome truths, leading to gratitude and a deeper dependence on Him.

Let us continue to pray and seek God's guidance in all aspects of our lives, trusting that He will lead us in the path that honors Him.

We're with you in this, dear friend. It's a tough world out there, and we need to stay dependent on our Heavenly Father every step of the way. We've been reminded in Jeremiah 10:23 that "I know, Lord, that a man's way is not in himself, nor is it in a man who walks to direct his steps." It's a humbling truth, but a liberating one too, isn't it? It means we don't have to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. We can trust that God is leading us, even when we can't see the path clearly.

Let's pray together, shall we? "Dear Lord, forgive us for the times we've tried to walk independently of You. We confess that we've tried to be in control, to determine our own steps. Help us to surrender that control, Lord. Help us to remain dependent on You, to trust in Your guidance. Guide our steps, Lord. Lead us in the way we should go. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

It's in those moments of surrender, of trust, that we find true peace and strength. Let's encourage each other to keep seeking God's face, to keep walking in His ways. Because even when the path is uncertain, even when the way is tough, we know that He is with us. And that makes all the difference.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
