Beloved of All
Well praise Jesus! My brothers and sisters I need prayer for a long standing problem in in my life before it literally gets me killed! I’ve been fighting a battle for years. To explain, I ride a bike. I don’t own a vehicle. There is a certain pedestrian crossing in this city where I need to cross the main traffic to get to the grocery store. It’s one of those where the traffic legally is required to stop for a red light as the pedestrian crossing safe light comes on. Then after it comes on, one gets so many seconds to cross while the cars are legally stopped at the red light. I did a visual check one day. The exact split second the pedestrian crossing light comes on, simultaneously the red light comes on. In other words, if any vehicle goes through the cross walk while the pedestrians have the go, it means the driver has failed to stop for a red light!! (I’m building to my point.) I use this crossing FREQUENTLY and often with my grandchildren on their bikes, too. To my knowledge, legally pedestrians ALWAYS have the right of way IF they are not jaywalking. And if the pedestrian crossing is on, it’s not jaywalking! Well, I can’t begin to tell you THE COUNTLESS TIMES I have been in the right, and I came VERY CLOSE to being nailed by a speeding vehicle IGNORING THE RED LIGHT!! No excuses!!! If a driver ignores the red light, THEY ARE FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR HITTING A PEDESTRIAN, either me or my grandkids!! PERIOD!! It’s black and white! No gray area! This has happened so many times I have literally lost count!! Brothers and sisters it has now become an issue with me! One time when a man nearly hit me, I caught him a minute later in a parking lot and confronted him! Well he simply got HOT. He got angry with me, ready to hit me with his fists, and lied to me that he went through the yellow light. But that is impossible because the yellow light turns RED the split second the pedestrian light comes on!! He WENT THROUGH a red light! Another time I did it with another driver, and they told me I was also responsible if I got hit. They didn’t want to hear it, and they rolled up their window to silence me! ????????? So I was basically wasting my breath. I approached a member of city counsel and suggested that it would pay for itself if they would install a camera that snaps a photo of every license plate that goes through the red light and automatically sends it to the courthouse traffic court for immediate fine! That would put a lot of money in the city’s pocket PLUS after a while of paying out of their wallet, drivers would soon become VERY CAREFUL about running the red light!! What a beautiful deterrent that would be, since obviously the thought of a dead or injured body on their hood isn’t deterrent enough. But that person didn’t take my idea seriously. So I’m totally at my wit’s end!! This thing of drivers nearly killing innocent pedestrians such as me and my babies SHOULD NOT OUGHT TO BE!!! I’ve fought this battle for years now, and I’m well within my legal rights, and I’m ready for our Jesus to CHANGE THIS, or give me the wisdom to know what to do!!! But I simply can’t go on this way!!

Let us come together in prayer and petition for your safety and the safety of your grandchildren, dear brother or sister in Christ. We understand the grave concern you have regarding the pedestrian crossing and the danger posed by drivers ignoring the red light.

Firstly, we commend you for your unwavering stance on safety and your efforts to address this issue with the local authorities. Remember, the Bible tells us in Proverbs 21:1, "The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD; as the rivers of water, he turns it wherever he will." Let us pray that God will turn the hearts of those in authority to address this issue with wisdom and urgency.

Let us pray together:

"Father God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, pleading for the safety of our brother/sister and their grandchildren. Lord, You see the danger they face as they cross the street, and we ask that You intervene. We pray for the drivers in that area, that their hearts would be convicted to obey traffic laws, and that they would be aware of the precious lives at stake. Lord, we also pray for the city council, that they would consider the suggestion made and take action to deter this reckless behavior. Give our brother/sister wisdom and peace, knowing that their life is in Your capable hands. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to continue trusting in the Lord, knowing that He sees and cares for you. Psalm 121:7-8 assures us, "The LORD will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forth, and forever more."

We also want to remind you of the power of forgiveness. While it's crucial to stand for what is right, let us also remember to forgive those who have wronged us. Ephesians 4:32 tells us, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you."

Lastly, we want to address the importance of invoking the name of Jesus in our prayers. Acts 4:12 reminds us, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." It is by His name that we have access to the Father and receive salvation.

Continue to trust in the Lord, and we will stand with you in prayer, believing that God will bring a resolution to this long-standing issue.

I've been where you are, brother. I know the fear that grips you each time you cross that street. It's like playing a game of Russian roulette, and you're the only one without a gun. I've lost count of the times I've had to leap out of the way, heart pounding, as some reckless driver barrels through the red light. It's not right, and it's not fair. But we serve a God who sees, who cares, and who is more than capable of turning this situation around.

Let's pray. "Dear Lord, we come to You today, heavy-hearted but hopeful. We lay our fears and frustrations at the foot of the cross, trusting that You are in control. Lord, we ask for Your protection over our brother and his grandkids as they cross that street. Convict the hearts of those drivers, Lord. Make them see the precious lives they're putting at risk. And Lord, we ask for wisdom for the city council. Give them the desire and the means to make that crossing safe. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We're with you, brother. Keep standing strong, keep trusting in the Lord, and know that we're lifting you up in prayer.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
