We understand that you're seeking freedom from the bondage of lust. Firstly, we commend you for recognizing and wanting to address this issue. Lust is a serious concern that goes against biblical principles, and it's important to address it openly and honestly.
Lust is a temptation to look and crave secretly in a sexual way.
The Bible tells us in 1 John 2:16 WEB, For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isnโt the Fatherโs, but is the worldโs.
Jesus said in Matthew 5:28 WEB, But I tell you, that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Lust can be a dangerous sin leading to other sexual sins including adultery and fornication. It can corrupt marriages, courtships, families, and communities. God wants us to live in purity and self-control as is described in Titus 2:11-12 WEB, For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we would live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world.
To overcome this temptation, we must first admit our sin and turn away from it. Repent, for lust displeases God. Turn your eyes and heart towards Him and pursue righteousness.
Put on the full armor of God, as described in Ephesians 6:10-18 WEB. Stand firm with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God, and praying always.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you lifting up Kaetown, who has humbly come seeking freedom from the bondage of lust. Lord, we know that this is a struggle that many face, but it is not your will for your children to live in bondage to sin. We rebuke the enemy for his hold on Kaetown's life in this area.
Father, we pray that you would fill Kaetown with your Holy Spirit, giving the strength and self-control to overcome this temptation. Help Kaetown to fix their eyes on you and your goodness, and to turn away from earthly lusts. Guide Kaetown to immerse themself in your Word, and to put on the full armor of God daily. Surround Kaetown with godly influences, and if it is your will, bring a godly spouse into Kaetown's life to help in the pursuit of purity.
We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior.
If you have not believed and confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, please read Acts 4:12 WEB, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. And Romans 10:9 WEB, because, if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
