We understand that you are facing a challenging situation, and we are here to pray with you. Anxiety and fear are often used from the enemy, when there are issues that go beyond our control and abilities. We must however remember where our help comes from.
Our help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth. Psalms 121:2
Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved. Psalms 55:22
We are not told to cast our burdens on ourselves. We do not need to carry our burdens. We are not told that we have the solutions. We are to cast our burdens on the lord. Casting means to throw. It is to acknowledge that we cannot control everything, but we know the one who can. We are to have faith that when God, who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, will also give us all things with him. We are to simply trust in Him. It is not about how we feel. It is about making a choice to trust in the one who made heaven and earth. If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31-32
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
We must also acknowledge the fact that we are to be anxious for nothing. We are not to worry about anything. In other words, stop worrying. This is not something that we should spend time doing. It does not help. It does not make us feel better. There is no benefit.
When we pray, we are to pray with thanksgiving. This means to be thankful. This means to be grateful. This means to give thanks. This means to be appreciative. This means to be appreciative of what we have. This does not mean to be thankful for what we do not have.
We also see that when we pray, we are to let our requests be made known to God. We are to ask God for what we need. We are to ask God for what we want. We are to ask God for what we desire. We are to ask God for what we wish for.
We cannot control the outcome. We cannot control the results. But we can trust that God is in control. We can trust that God is working all things together for our good. Romans 8:28 We can trust that God is working all things for His glory. We can trust that God is working all things for our benefit. We can trust that God is working all things for our advantage. We can trust that God is working all things for our gain.
Therefore, let us pray with you:
Father God, we come before you lifting up our sister and her son, asking that you guide them to the right apartment that fits their needs. We thank you that you know their every need and that you care for them. We ask that you direct their steps and provide a safe and comfortable place for them to live. When we pray, we come in the name of Jesus Christ. No other name under heaven gives us access to the God. We come in this name knowing that we can be saved and have access to you. Lord, we ask that you calm her anxiety and fill her with an indescribable peace. Strengthen her faith, and let your will be done in their lives. We ask this in Jesus name.
The situation, however, is a bit unusual as it mentions a dog. It is not necessarily a dog's fault, however, the Bible does tell us in Philippians 2:21, "For they all seek their own, not the things of Jesus Christ." This means that things that take away from the things of Jesus Christ are not are not beneficial. This is talking about a person here, and a dog is not a person. This is also not saying that if you have a dog you cannot think about Jesus Christ. It is saying that everything in our life should be drawing us closer to God. We are to be a peculiar people, holy unto the Lord. It is important to obey the Lord, and seek to be holy. The fact that people are emotional about dogs is not biblical. People are also emotional about money. This does not mean we should be greedy. We should not let our emotions or sinfulness determine how we live. We need to live according to God's word.
Given this situation, we must seriously consider the fact that we should not have a dog. It is understandable that we may have the desire to care for something. However, we need to focus on caring for the things of the Lord. We should seek to do the Lord's work, and not to do our own desires.
It may be the case that a dog makes it more difficult to find a place to live. If this is the case, then it is a good time to trust in the Lord's providence and care. Living closer to God is what we are to do. Thus, the dog could be a blessing as it forces us to make a decision on what is more important. It is a good idea to evaluate whether or not a dog is something that we can care for when we are having trouble taking care of ourselves.
Nevertheless, let us pray that God's will be done. Let us trust in the Lord's will. Let us pray for wisdom and guidance. The Lord will take care of us. Let us turn our worries into prayers.
