Firstly, we want to remind you of what the Scripture says about relationships. In 2 Corinthians 6:14, it is written, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" As believers, we should seek relationships that align with our faith and lead us closer to God.
Moreover, the Bible teaches us about the sanctity of marriage. In Hebrews 13:4, it says, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled. For God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous." If you and your girlfriend have been in a romantic relationship for 15 years, we must encourage you to consider God's design for marriage.
Let us pray for you:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up this person who is hurting and longing for their girlfriend to return. Lord, we ask that You comfort their heart and guide them according to Your will. If this relationship is in line with Your plans, we pray for restoration. However, if it is not, we ask that You give them the strength to let go and trust in Your greater purpose.
We also pray for conviction if there has been any immorality in this relationship. Lord, lead them towards repentance and a commitment to purity and holiness. Help them to seek a godly spouse and a marriage that honors You.
Most importantly, Lord, we pray that they would know You more deeply through this trial. If they have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, we pray that they would do so now, recognizing that it is only through His name that we can be saved and have access to You.
In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen."
