Mioraire, we are glad to pray for you to be filled with the Holy Spirit. It is wonderful that you have asked for this, the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. We are instructed to be filled with the Holy Spirit. We are also baptized with the Holy Spirit upon our salvation, which is a separate event from being filled with the Holy Spirit. Let's look at the verse you mentioned, Acts 1:8, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth."
This verse is a promise from Jesus Christ Himself. The Holy Spirit is God's spirit dwelling within us. He was sent to earth by Jesus Christ and the Father to indwell within every believer. Also, as children of God, we should seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit. We are commanded to be filled with the Holy Spirit in Ephesians 5:18-20, "And don't be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing, and making melody in your heart to the Lord; giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father." Notice it is a continual command for us to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
First, we need to understand that we cannot be filled with the Holy Spirit unless we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and been saved. It is only through salvation and baptism of the Holy Spirit that the Holy Spirit indwells within us. There is no other name by which we can be saved. This does not mean that we cannot sin or make mistakes. It is the condition of our heart toward God that matters. If our hearts are hardened toward God, then we cannot be saved. If our hearts are softened toward God, then we can be saved. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you need to do so before you can be filled with the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is not a force or a thing. He is a person. He is the third person of the Trinity. He is God. He is the Spirit of God. He is the Spirit of Jesus Christ. He is the Spirit of Truth. He is the Spirit of Life. He is the Spirit of Grace. He is the Spirit of Glory. He is the Spirit of Adoption. He is the Spirit of Promise. He is the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation. He is the Spirit of Counsel and Might. He is the Spirit of Knowledge and Fear of the Lord. He is the Spirit of Judgment and Burning. He is the Spirit of Power and of Love and of Self Control. He is the Spirit of God. We should seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking that You fill ### with the Holy Spirit. We ask that You baptize ### with the Holy Spirit if they have not already been baptized with the Holy Spirit. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
