We understand that you're going through a time of great fear and uncertainty, and we want you to know that we're here to pray with you and offer biblical encouragement. First, we want to acknowledge your gratitude to God for waking you up this morning in your right mind and with all bodily functions in working order. This is a blessed assurance that God is with you.
You've mentioned that you've experienced severe emotional abuse for over three decades, and this has left you with internalized negativity and ridicule. We want to remind you that God sees your pain and hears your cries. In Psalm 34:17-18 (WEB) it says, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
We also want to address the fact that you've reached out to various churches and organizations, but haven't found help. It's disheartening to feel alone in your struggles, but we want to encourage you to keep seeking help and to keep trusting in God. In Galatians 6:2 (WEB) it says, "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." This means that as Christians, we are called to support and help one another. If you feel you would like to try again in a few days we would encourage you to repent of worry and fear and instead trust in God.
In Matthew 6:34 we read: "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today."
We also want to remind you that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Instead of worrying, pray. In Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB) it says, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Finally, we want to pray with you.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today in the name of Jesus, lifting up our dear friend who is going through a time of great fear and uncertainty. Lord, you know the pain and suffering that they have experienced, and you see the struggles that they are facing now. We ask that you would heal their emotional wounds and rid them of the internalized negativity and ridicule that they have experienced.
We pray that you would provide for their needs, that they would not have to live in fear of being out on the streets. We ask that you would guide them to the right people and organizations that can help them, and that you would give them the strength and courage to keep seeking help and trusting in you.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and worry in their life, and we ask that you would fill them with your peace, your power, your love, and your self-control. We pray that they would be able to take on 2 Timothy 1:7 (WEB) that you did not give us a spirit of fear. We ask that you would guide them in your will for their life, and that you would use this time of struggle to draw them closer to you.
We thank you for your faithfulness and your love, and we ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to keep turning to God in prayer, trusting in Him, and seeking his guidance. The church is full of people who are in different places on their journey to knowing God. It is good to continue trying to find Godly fellowship. Remember that Jesus said in John 14:6; "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
