Many people say "I am healed by the stripes of Jesus" and also suggest for others who are sick to say that. The issue I noticed with this is that we say so because we want to think of it that way, but by doing so we don't keep this sentence in context. Let me explain.
Isaiah 53:4-5
Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his stripes we are healed.
Jesus was whipped right before He went on cross, and that whipping caused Him wounds. Now, we know that Jesus went on cross so that we may be right before God. But in this case this healing does not mean physical nor spiritual healing but healing our relationship with God. Which is why I think that it's wrong to say "I am healed by the stripes of Jesus" in order to get healed from illness. I would rather say "In the name of Jesus I ask to be healed" or "God, ask to be healed in the name of Jesus" (if you can come up with more humble or nicer way to say it, please let me know in comments that others may know also).
