Thank you, Dennis_, for sharing your prayer request with us. We join you in seeking God's will for your life as you move forward into this new chapter. We appreciate your acknowledgement of the Lord God (Elohim), and His grace. We appreciate your heartfelt desire for strength, mercy, perseverance, and discipline.
Let us remember the words of Scripture: Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straightProverbs 3:5-6 WEB. This is a powerful reminder that as we trust in the Lord and acknowledge Him, He directs our paths.
It is wonderful to desire to avoid past failures. We have all sinned and fallen short of God's glory. And we learn from Romans 3:23 WEB, and Romans 6:1-2 WEB.
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?Romans 6:1-2 WEB
And we also learn from Romans 6:14 WEB that sin will no longer be our master.
For sin will not have dominion over you, For you are not under law, but under grace.Romans 6:14 WEB
We are not under the law, but under grace. We cannot simply live by the law, but we are to obey God through grace. The law merely shows us that we are sinners and we need a savior. We are slaves to righteousness, not to sin.
Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.Romans 6:6 WEB
We also know that we are dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.Romans 6:23 WEB
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. Neither present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.Romans 6:12-13 WEB
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.Romans 6:11 WEB
You may already be a Christian believer, but there is no mention of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ in your prayer. May we be so bold as to ask you to clarify your relationship with Jesus Christ? Is Jesus your savior? Have you received salvation from Jesus Christ? Do you understand the wonderful gift that God has given us through Jesus Christ?
Believing in Jesus Christ is essential to our Salvation. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times;1 Timothy 2:5-6 WEB.
God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.1 Thessalonians 5:9-10 WEB
Is Jesus Christ your mediator to God? We should be praying by and in the name of Jesus Christ.
There is no other name by which we can be saved.
In him we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him.Ephesians 3:12 WEB
And in no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, through which we must be saved!Acts 4:12
But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God's children, to those who believe in his name: who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.John 1:12-13 WEB
Let us join you in prayer, seeking God's guidance and strength for your journey:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up Dennis_ as they enter this new chapter of life. We thank You for Your grace and mercy, and for the opportunity to walk in Your will. Guide Dennis_ with Your wisdom, love, and strength. Help them to avoid the pitfalls of the past and to seize the opportunities You provide, using them for Your glory.
Lord, we pray that Dennis_ will trust in You with all their heart, acknowledging You in all their ways. We ask that You direct their paths and give them the perseverance, humility, and discipline needed to live a life pleasing to You.
Lord Jesus, we pray that You are Dennis_ mediator to God. We also pray that if Dennis_ has not already received the gift of salvation from You, that they would accept the gift of salvation that You have already given.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
