"17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." 2 Corinthians 4: 17-18 NKJV

The beauty of believing is knowing with all your heart that no matter what you're going through, it will pass. For this reason, we are to set our sights on things not seen rather than focus on the weight of earthly burdens. Carrying heavy loads comes with living, whether godly or ungodly. However, believers have an advantage, they have Jesus as the ultimate load bearer. He is always there, everywhere, never late, and never early. The thing is, we must have faith. What is faith?

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" Hebrews 11: 1."

Without Faith, it is impossible to please God. "And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." Hebrews 11:6

Now, here is where many find themselves between a rock and a hard place. On one hand, they say "I have faith in God." Yet, on the other hand, they say, "I can't do this, get through this, or keep on living without something or someone in my life?" The latter indicates having a lack of trust in God.

Many years ago my mom gave us, her three daughters a dab of wisdom neither one of us forgot. Mom said, "never say "I can't live without a man or woman who no longer wants to live with you. Her reason, "she said, you come into this world alone and you leave this world alone." As it seems, the only couples who die together, simultaneously, whether divorced or married met foul play. Recognizing and accepting this morbid truth, as testament calls for colossal faith in God. Basically, doing so means, taking the Father's Word and promises as Gospel.

"5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13: 5

Having faith means trusting God for everything because He is all things, and is able to provide anything that you need. Yes, I know; sometimes it's difficult to "let go and let God." But, that's what having faith in God means. To paint a picture, imagine yourself on the brink of homelessness? What do you do? The person who has faith calls on the Lord, the only help they know. Then they wait because they have no doubt that the Lord will bring them out. On the other side of the coin, we have the "weak in faith."

The "weak in faith" have been compromised by Satan. Every chance he gets he steals God's glory, only after successfully seeking, killing and destroying!" Sadly, this group worries religiously fears potential outcomes, and sometimes they go to Satan for help. Now worrying is natural, but not asking the Lord to take away worries is a sign of "weak faith." When we go to God in prayer He takes the lead, the weight and gives us clarity. Having faith is not optional for Christians.

"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." 1 Peter 5: 8

Because Satan knows the Bible inside out, he can tell when faith grows weak. How do you ask? Well, the best indicator of weakened faith is how we respond to tribulation, challenges, heartbreak, mistreatment and the like. Essentially, Satan looks for evidence of cracks in one's spiritual foundation. Have you stopped depending on God?

Faith is an essential element of establishing a relationship with God.

Father God, I need You, every hour, every second, and every minute breath passes through my nostrils. Lord help me know that with no uncertainty. Don't let me fall so short that I forget that You sit on high, and know everything that I'm going through. Strengthen my faith Lord, keep your arms around me so tight that around that Satan becomes discouraged. In Jesus Name, Amen!

"18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever." 2 Corinthians 4: 18
