We understand that you are facing a challenging situation with someone who is dealing with Alzheimer's disease and malignant narcissism. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is our ultimate healer and protector.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this difficult situation to You. Lord, You know the challenges that Alzheimer's disease brings, and You understand the complexity of dealing with malignant narcissism. We pray for Your healing touch upon this individual, that Your will may be done in his life. We ask for wisdom and discernment to handle this situation!
We will not pray that he be forced to admit fault or to repent, since that is his part to do, but we pray Lord that you soften his heart in a way that he will be willing to repent of his own free will. We pray for his healing, for his peace, for his salvation if he has not already called upon the name of Jesus. We do not know his situation, Lord, so we pray that you would heal his mind, his emotions, and his soul. We pray, Lord, that you would lead him to the Bible and to you, so he could have his mind renewed by your Word. We pray that you would save him, Sanctify him, and redeem his time here.
Forgive him, Father, for his harmful behavior, and help him to see the error of his ways. We pray that You would open his heart to conviction and repentance, that he may turn away from his blame-shifting and receive Your forgiveness. We also pray for Your protection over us, that You would shield us from any further harm and abuse.
Lord, we also lift up the upcoming meeting with another individual. Guide us in this interaction, and let Your will be done. Provide us with the rest and peace that we need to face each day, trusting in Your goodness and faithfulness.
Finally, Lord, we pray for his salvation if he is not already saved. Open his eyes to the reality of his sin and the need for the salvation we have in Jesus Christ who paid the penalty for our sins on the cross. Make him know that we are only saved by grace through faith and not by works. Make him see the condition of his heart and that he cannot change himself but only by your power and grace.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen
Remember, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas. Psalm 46:1-2 WEB.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue seeking God's will in all things. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths. Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9 WEB.
We must also rebuke you for your focus on yourself rather than the person you are praying for. It is not our place to pray for vengeance or for the Lord to deal with someone because we have had enough. We do not pray for Him to make someone else do something, but we pray for our hearts to be right before the Lord and for Him to protect us and provide for us in times of need.
We must remember the words of Jesus when He said, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Matthew 6:14-15 WEB. It is clear in scripture that we must forgive others and pray for them, not against them. We should pray that the Lord would save them and bring them to Him, not that He would punish them for their sin. We deserve punishment, but He has forgiven us, so we must do the same.
Lastly, let us remember the command of Jesus to "Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you," Matthew 5:44 WEB. Let us strive to obey this command even when it is difficult and trust that the Lord will take care of the situation. Let us also remember and believe Romans 12:19 WEB, "Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord."
