Don Carl Mathews II
Disciple of Prayer
This is my prayer request through a lady-friend I went to college with and whom we have just recently reacquainted.
Crissie’s husband Brad has suffered a brain injury which I can relate to having suffered my own brain injury I can relate.
Crissie’s husband Brad was hit by a speeding car outside their driveway while he was trying to wave them down and warn the speeders of their son and the neighbor’s kid who were playing in the yard.
Brad was life-flighted.
Brad was in a coma for nearly six weeks, his head hit the frame of the car and the rest of his body went through the windshield. Brad suffered subdural and subarachnoid bleeds, numerous fractures to both sides of his skull (right temporal, frontal lobes) from the car and hitting his head on the road, four broken ribs and blood in his lung cavity, a tear in his shoulder ligament, fractured fibula. Brad has lost his hearing that he wears hearing aids for now. Anger is one of greatest problems.
The family needs financial help as both parties were found at fault so crucial, medicines that I’m still on are extremely expensive along with brain-injury therapy’s which are mandatory for a full recovery as I know he cannot afford so he does without.
Brad’s greatest deficient which affects his work and home life is short-term memory issues along with his physical disabilities. Short-term memory was my greatest deficit as well which is why it took me 12 years to graduate college.
There’s one being who can alleviate Brad, Crissie and their six year old son of all of their strife and it’s the number one reason I’ve recovered 99% of what I was before my brain injury. And that’s a lot of prayer to Jesus.
Thank you.
