Dexter2020, we understand that you're struggling with sexual lust and feelings of impatience. First and foremost, we want to remind you that God's timing is perfect, and He has a plan for your life specifically in Jesus Christ. It's important to trust in Him and wait on His timing, rather than trying to take control or rush His plan this is true in all areas of life and our walk with Jesus including trying to find a spouse to marry as God intends.
We must address that engaging in sexual lust with strangers is considered fornication, which is sinful and harmful. The Bible is clear about maintaining sexual purity in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB: "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man can commit is outside the body; but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." Controlling sexual lust can be a difficult battle, be we know that by the grace of Jesus Christ we can succeed at this. Again, God's plan for sexual intimacy is within marriage between a man and a woman as outlined in the Bible.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in search of sexual purity for Dexter2020. We ask that You will help him to trust in Your perfect timing and plan for his life, including marriage to a spouse that you choose for them in their life. We pray against the stronghold of sexual lust in in Jesus name, help him to see the beauty and grace of your plan that forbids sexual acts before or outside of marriage. Help him to rely solely on You for his satisfaction and be steadfast in trusting Your plan for him. In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
Do not become anxious or frustrated while waiting. Instead, focus on growing your relationship with Jesus, and becoming the person He has called you to be in his name. Trust that He is preparing you and your future spouse for a godly marriage in His perfect timing. In the mean time, we suggest studying what Jesus and God's word in the Bible have to say about sexual purity, such as the instructions in Colossians 3:5 WEB: "Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry."
Lastly, we want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we may have access to God.
So if you have a request or specific situation you want us to pray over, please let us know in Jesus Christ's name.
