Beloved of All
The purpose of the world, and the devil, is to distract people so they'll focus on other things, and their mind won't be on God.Now...the question is, can the devil take an emotionl, and make it a focus to such an extent that it's used to keep their mind off of God?Like, it's "normal" to feel bad and miss someone close to you when they die.BUT, I've known a few people who, instead of moving on with their life,or putting their focus on God, YEARS later, they're obsessed with how their life is nothing now, because their loved one died FIFTEEN YEARS ago.Like, it's their central focus. At first, I just found the repetition irritating, but now I wonder if it's something more going on, like, the devil uses the grief to focus on that instead of God, or it turns to self pity.{After all if they're focused on that 24/7,how could they think about God?Do I have a point?

Lord, we thank you that you for the blessings that you have given us. Help us to honor you in every part of our lives. We place this request at your throne. Please hear and reply according to your perfect will and timing. Grant us the peace to know that you are in control. In Jesus Name. Amen.

The passing of a loved one affects people differently. As Christians, we do not grieve for the dead, but rather for the living. The dead person is in a better place, he has no more sorrow, hardship, or grief. His time of trials and testing has come to an end. Rather, we grieve for ourselves, we mourn the loss of a loved one because we know we will never see them again until the next life.

How long do we grieve? The truth is that the grief we feel never truly goes away. It may dull in time, but how long it takes depends on each person individually.

Can Satan use our emotions against us to keep our minds off God? Yes. In the same way however, God can use our emotions to draw us closer to Him. It works both ways. Often, in our grief and desperation we turn to God for comfort.

Now, if someone is focused on his grief 24/7 it most certainly isn't healthy for him. I would not call it, however, self-pity. Some people experience grief in such a way that even years later they are still grieving. It takes time for people to heal and come to terms with their grief and their loss. How much time depends on the individual. Is it the work of Satan? Perhaps, but I don't think so. I think that this is mainly our fault, we focus so much on the fact that we lost someone we loved, that we forget just how much the person we loved has gained, and how sad we must be making him, spending all our time grieving for them.

Yeah, but also they don't realize how monotonous it gets hearing the same subject over and over and over again.I used to drive one neighbor to the airport and the whole content of the conversation was, word for word, the same. They become a one subject person.

I guess from the outside it can get a little monotonous, even tiresome at times, but you need to remember that he is still grieving, even after all these years. Pray for him. Try to imagine how it must be for him, living 24/7 with his grief. Pray that God helps him come to terms with his grief.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
