We understand that you're struggling with self-control and forgiveness, especially when facing a flood of emotions and dealing with others who may be meddling in your affairs. First, let's address the importance of forgiveness and self-control in our lives.
Forgiveness is a powerful act that frees us from bitterness and resentment. Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB says, Forgive one another, even as God in Christ also forgave you. As we seek forgiveness from others, we must also be willing to forgive. The Lord's Prayer reminds us, Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors Matthew 6:12 WEB.
Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit that helps us manage our emotions and responses. Galatians 5:22-23 WEB lists self-control as a part of the fruit of the Spirit. To walk in the Spirit, we must cultivate this virtue.
When facing anger and emotional turmoil, remember what God's Word says: Be angry, and don't sin. Don't let the sun go down on your wrath Ephesians 4:26 WEB. It's important to address and resolve anger quickly, avoiding prolonged bitterness and conflict.
Regarding those meddling in your business, consider Jesus' words: Bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you Luke 6:28 WEB.Respond with kindness and prayer, trusting God to handle the situation.
Now, let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus. Turning in your word, you already know the issues we face in this human frame and you have given Promolos assurance that you are there to assist in changing this mood, state, and attitude. We repent for the times we've fallen short in our self-control and ask for your forgiveness. Fill us with your Spirit, helping us to bear the fruit of self-control. Help Promolos to forgive those who have wronged them, and to bless and pray for those who meddle in Promolos affairs. This is not a easy task in and of itself and understanding that controlling emotions takes a lot of work, we want you to help assure Promolos that these issues will be resolved in the best way possible for their life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me John 14:6 WEB.
Finally, consider the words of Proverbs 16:32 WEB: One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty; one who rules their spirit, than one who takes a city.
Jesus was strong in his temptations with the devil and he quoted the word of God in those instances. Therefore, as a man of the word, it is crucial to use the word as the sword.
We are not referencing the person by name during the prayer since this could be any individual.
