We are saddened to hear about the unethical practices being used to win elections. As believers, we are called to stand for integrity and righteousness in all spheres of life, including politics. The Bible tells us that God despises dishonest scales (Proverbs 11:1, WEB), and that we are to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8, WEB).
Firstly, we must remember that God is sovereign over all authorities, and it is He who ultimately raises up and brings down rulers (Daniel 2:21, WEB). We can trust that even in the midst of apparent injustice, God has a plan and a purpose.
We pray, Father, that You would expose any unethical practices and bring them to light. Convict those who are involved in these schemes and grant them the courage to repent and turn away from their dishonest deeds.
We also pray for the voters who have been disenfranchised, that You would grant them a voice and a means to express their desires for their nation's leadership. Give them a heart of discernment and wisdom to know that it is by Jesus Christ that we are saved and led. Help them to remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to You, Oh God, and have the ability to seek You. Lord, we ask that You would raise up godly leaders who will serve with integrity and justice, leaders who will not use manipulation or threats to gain or maintain power.
Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 20:25-26 (WEB), But Jesus summoned them, and said, You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 26 It shall not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant.
Lastly, we encourage you to continue to pray for your nation and its leaders. Stand firm in the truth, and do not be discouraged by the apparent triumph of injustice. God is faithful, and He will accomplish His purposes in His time.
Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9, WEB).
