THE MYSTERY OF BELIEVERS' TROUBLES, HARDSHIPS, REJECTION, EXCLUSION, INSULTS, DIFFICULTIES, PERSECUTION AND SUFFERINGS BECAUSE THEY ARE CONSCIOUS OF GOD NAMELY JESUS CHRIST The moment one hears the Word of God, the gospel of Jesus Christ and you believe in your heart you are born again: born of Spirit- that is born of God (you become a child of God). When this happens, you no longer belongs to the world but you are of God. In this way you become the light of God in Christ Jesus shining in darkness for the world is darkness.(Matthew 5:14-16) When darkness sees the light, he wants to run away but first he wants to find out who is this light. In this way, darkness wages war against light. Therefore, in this world, we are always at war with darkness.(2 Timothy 2:3) Thus we face persecutions from all angles in this life. Ours is troubles, hardships, rejection, exclusion, insults, difficulties and all sort of bad things. Many times, christians often complain about their suffering yet the scriptures reveal that instead of complaining, we ought to take delight in our suffering for when we are weak then we are strong in Christ Jesus. (2 Corinthians 12:10). Our suffering teaches us to surrender to God's throne and rely only on God who raises the dead. That is to have faith in God's power being fully persuaded that God is able to do all that he has promised us in his Word. This kind of faith is credited to us as righteousness just as Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness. (2 Corinthians 1:8-10). Then we can set our hope only on God that he will continue to deliver us from every harm as we set our hearts on him in prayers Our suffering realign our focus so that our faith should not rest on man's wisdom but on God's power. In everything, we must rely on God's power and not our works, intelligence, wisdom or effort. (1 Corinthians 2:3-5) (2 Corinthians 11:30-33) (2 Corinthians 12:5) ( Psalm 44:1-4) (Deuteronomy 8:16-18) (Acts 3:12-16) (Proverbs 19:21) God opposes those who rely on their own strength, wisdom or power: it is idol worship. Your wisdom and power becomes your god. In this you have broken faith with God (Habakkuk 1:11) (Jude 1:18) (Hosea 10:13) (Isaiah 31:1) (Judges 7:2). Now, total dependence on God is what God has commanded and is pleased with. All of us must humble ourselves under God's power, turn away from our sins and all kinds of ungodly ways and plead with God for mercy as we pray in reverence submission to God our Creator. God gives strength to those who humble themselves in trials and all kinds of Suffering because they are conscious of God.(1 Peter 5:10-11) (1 Peter 5:5-6) (1 Peter 3:17) Our suffering is to take to the glory of God. It is a cleansing process that is to remove sin in us that we may live the rest of our lives for God in Christ Jesus. This is to test our faith to see if it is genuine faith so that it can be rewarded in glory in Christ Jesus when we have stood the test in all kinds of trials. God turns our weakness to strength and hence by God's power we defeat our enemy the devil in all his schemes.(Hebrews 11:32-34) (Psalm 44:1-4) (1 Peter 5:10) Let's Pray: Holy Father, your love endures forever. You have loved us and called me to serve you. O God, my God, you strengthen me in my suffering. You lead me by your Spirit. Your joy is my strength. To you alone be glory and power forever and ever, Amen
