Let us join together in the prayer that Jesus taught us, remembering that it encompasses the essence of our communion with God and our daily needs.
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
This prayer, found in Matthew 6:9-13, is a beautiful reminder of our dependence on God and our need for His guidance and provision. It teaches us to prioritize God's will and to seek His forgiveness as we also forgive others.
Let us also remember the words of Jesus in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.' IJC" It is through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we pray.
We pray that our Father is honored and that His will is done in our lives. We ask for His provision, forgiveness, and guidance. We trust in His promises.
We include these scriptures to help strengthen our faith and our prayers:
"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him." WEB Matthew 7:11
"Therefore, let us draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need." WEB Hebrews 4:16
