I listen to a lecture called: Why Relationships Matter: Connecting with God and Others, and I am reading a book called The Grace Awakening. There were several points that spoke to my heart. I pray that my study notes will bless you.
♥Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances (Victor Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning). The man or woman that can choose to keep a God got me attitude in any given set of circumstances has made an inner decision. It is those inner decisions, not the outer influences that make us in the kind of men and women we are.
♥ Purposely walking in “The Grace to Let Others Be” is an inner decision you and I must make: The kind of grace that lets others be whoever and whatever God is leading them to be. By letting others be, you free yourself to give full attention to what God is trying to make of you. You have neither the time nor the energy to “not” walk in the Grace to let others be. Love demands that You Let Go and Let God. Remember, where God has taken you, or where God is taking you, may “not” be on God’s agenda for someone else for several reasons. That may not be God's plan for their life. They may not be ready nor or they willing to pay the price. Have the grace to let others be.
♥Freeing others “The Grace to Let Others Be” means we never assume a position we’re not qualified to fill. We are not qualified to judge. Why? We do not know all the facts. We are unable to read motives. We find it impossible to be totally objective. We do not see the whole picture. We live with blind spots. We are prejudiced and have blurred perspective. But most importantly we ourselves are imperfect and inconsistent.
♥Accepting others is basic to“The Grace to Let Others Be.” When we truly accept another person, we remember that the Lord is perfectly capable of directing his or her life just as He is perfectly capable of directing our lives. That relieves us from having to be his or her conscience. It’s our job to accept others; it’s God’s job to direct them.
♥Refuse to dictate to others. Allow the Lord freedom to direct their lives. “We are the Lord’s.” If we would just remember that fact. It will help us from directing others’ lives (read Romans 14:9-12). We belong to the Lord. Man was created by God for God (Revelation 4:11).
Let's Pray: God I ask You in Jesus’ name, bless me with the wisdom to make that inner decision to always purposely walk in the grace and freedom to let others be whomever and whatever You are leading them to be. Do not let me compare myself, criticize, or compete with others. Do not let me try to control, manipulate, or intimidate others based on my culture, standards, belief system, or limited knowledge of Your Word and who You are. Remind me to pray for them, to let go, let God, and walk in the grace to let others be.
God bless me with the knowledge and wisdom to always give You my full attention to what You are trying to make of me in every season of my life. May I successfully (through Your leadership, guidance, direction, correction, wisdom, strength, and grace) accomplish all that You have planned for my life so that I will fulfill my God given destiny. God all that I have asked of You in this prayer, please do the same for all those I love, care about, and the writer of this prayer. Amen.
