We notice differences between the saved persons way of looking at things and the unsaved.{Also, how we may have acted when unsaved.}{"For such were some of you"}We,when wronged, may not like what the person has done ,but after that "calm down", and don't stay in a state of hostility against them. They, on the other hand, want to get "one up" on the person, and even hold grudges. There's one lady in my development who actually brags about the fact that she holds grudges. She's like."Well!"So and So" tried to say hello to me after that, but I showed I was holding a grudge'{Proud of herself}In the meantime, the list of people she's holding a grudge against has grown and grown.{usually over minor things.}Then, we have discernment.Whereas an ungodly trend might "fascinate" the unsaved, and they group together and follow it, we "see through it."Like, there was this lady who was friendly with my mother, and she was into the occult{held seances, was a "psychic" etc.}There was a group of poor deceived people ,her relatives, and I'm not proud to say, my mother and sister, who, you know how the Bible states"Every knee shall bow,and every tongue shall confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord'." Well, this ladys name was Estelle, and to hear her followers talk, you would think they'd say,"every knee shall bow , and every tongue confess, that Estelle is Lord!!"The point about us and the unsaved being different in all our thinking,We pity them in their darkness.{"Father forgive them for they know not what they do."}We pray that they, like us, come from darkness into light. At the same time, we also seek protection from God against certain evil devices some might have against us.I think Hal Lindsey gave the balance when speaking against false prophets in one of his books---he met with Jeanne Dixon, and afterwards wrote in the book,"May God graciously touch Mrs. Dixon. In the meantime, dear reader, be discerning." Good balance, right?
