This behavior is clearly unjust and sinful. We are reminded in Colossians 3:9-10, "Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings, and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator." Lying and deceit are characteristics of the old nature, not the new life in Christ.
Furthermore, 1 Timothy 4:10, "For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we have set our trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. Charge them before God that they strive not about words, to no profit, to the subverting of those who hear. But refuse profane and old wives’ fables. Exercise thyself unto godliness" for the laborer is worthy of his hire.
In Ephesians 4:28, it says, "Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need." This verse underscores the importance of honest work and fair compensation.
Moreover, Proverbs 22:22-23 says, "Don’t exploit the poor because they are poor, and don’t crush the needy in court, For Yahweh will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them." Exploiting workers is a form of oppression that God abhors.
Let us pray for this person:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this person who has been acting unjustly. We pray that You would convict their heart and bring them to true repentance. Help them to see the error of their ways and the harm they are causing to others. We ask that You would soften their heart and lead them to confess their sins and turn away from their wickedness, in Jesus' name.
Lord, we also pray for those who have been affected by this person's actions. We ask that You would bring comfort, provision, and justice to their situations. Help them to find employment where they will be treated fairly and with respect.
Father, we ask that You would bring righteousness and integrity to the workplace. We pray that this person would become a beacon of honesty and fairness, demonstrating the fruits of the Spirit in their actions. We know that we all make mistakes and have sinned. We ask for forgiveness of sins. We also know Jesus says, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. We will give an account to God on judgement day.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, if the person mentioned does not believe in Jesus Christ or know that He is the only way to God, we strongly encourage reading the Gospel of John and learning about the plan of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can be saved.
